Abstract

Objectives : To report a case of patient with neuromyelitis optica who treated with Korean Medicine treatment for 2years
Methods : The patients with neuromyelitis optica was treated with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, Bee venom, electroacupuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine for 2 years. Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), sensory, motor grade, and visual acuity were checked to measure the outcome.
Results : EDSS, sensory, motor grade and visual acuity of the patient improved. The symptoms briefly deteriorated due to the recurrence in June 2018 but did not leave sequelae.
Conclusions : The patient with neuromyelitis optica was treated for2 years with Korean Medicine and the treatment was effective relieving the symptoms of the patient.
